Not everyone can contribute the same thing.

One person may contribute money.

Another may contribute labor.

Another may contribute agricultural knowledge.

Another may contribute land research.

Another may contribute construction skills.

Another may contribute business expertise.

Another may contribute technology, media, education, or community organizing.

The objective is to create structures where different forms of contribution can help build collective capacity.

AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE VISION

One Drop Community Organization seeks to develop agricultural cooperative opportunities that can help marginalized melanated communities participate in:

  • Land acquisition

  • Farming

  • Gardening

  • Food production

  • Seed preservation

  • Agricultural education

  • Food distribution

  • Local enterprise

  • Renewable-resource development

  • Community housing

  • Cooperative businesses

  • Intergenerational wealth building

The long-term vision is not simply to create farms.

It is to create community ecosystems where land, food, housing, education, employment, enterprise, and culture can reinforce one another.
